With bachelor formation as Engineer in Biotechnology by the National Polytechnic Institute from Mexico (IPN), I started my scientific career studying Plant Epigenetics in CINVESTAV, then I obtained a master degree by the Biotechnology Institute from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) developing a project focus on Drosophila epigenetics.
As a current P.hD. Student in Merino’s Lab I am developing a bioinformatics project focus on the analysis of transcriptional regulators in bacteria. I am interested in the evolutionary origin of transcriptional regulatory networks that leads to the eukaryotic gene regulation as we known today.
I have used R programming lenguage during the last 4 years. I attended the Latin American R/Bioconductor Developers workshop 2018 and 2019 that encouraged me to develop my own R packages. This summer I presented my work as a software developer during the Bioconductor Conference BioC2019.
Recently I became co-organizer of the Community of Bioinformatics Software Developers CDSB, member of the Mexican Network of Bioinformatics RMB and founder of the R-Ladies Cuernavaca community that promotes gender diversity in the R community.
